"Reclaiming The Middle Class: An Evening of Discussion"

Three
of today’s leading voices speak on issues central to restoring strength
to middle-class America. Join the lively and engaging discussion on its
heritage and future. Author book signings will follow the talk.

Local authors Jack Nelson-Pallmayer and Joanne Boyer will be joined by Stewart Acuff,
Chief of Staff for the Utility Workers of America (AFL-CIO) and one of
our country’s best known and most successful union organizers. Each will
speak about how and why a healthy middle class is what keeps our
country strong and what people can do to help reclaim its great
heritage.

Jack
Nelson-Pallmeyer, associate professor of peace studies at the
University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and founder of Minnesota’s Arms
Spending Alternative Project (MN-ASAP), is author of the book: Authentic Hope: It’s The End of the World As We Know It, But Soft Landings Are Possible.

Stewart Acuff’s book: Playing Bigger Than You Are: A Life in Organizing,
illustrates his belief that the struggle for workers’ rights is rooted
in fairness, righteousness and the lessons of nonviolence exhibited by
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi.

Joanne Boyer, who blogs at Wisdom Voices.com, is the author/editor of Wisdom of Progressive Voices,
which chronicles our great progressive heritage through biographies and
quotes from some of the most famous voices of the American Progressive
Movement.
