Concordia University, St. Paul Presents “A Wild Life” by Cheryl Strayed

“Strayed's memoir Wild pretty much obliterated me. I was reduced, during the book's final third, to puddle-eyed cretinism. . . . As loose and sexy and dark as an early Lucinda Williams song. It's got a punk spirit and makes an earthy and American sound. . . . The cumulative welling up I experienced during Wild was partly a response to that too infrequent sight: that of a writer finding her voice, and sustaining it, right in front of your eyes.”--The New York Times

It was a New York Times best seller. It’s becoming a movie starring Reese Witherspoon. Now the inspirational book Wild can help you change your life. Join Concordia University, St. Paul as we welcome Cheryl Strayed for “A Wild Life,” an event in which Cheryl will offer life lessons learned during one of her darkest times.

Even as she mourned the loss of her mother and saw the demise of her marriage, Cheryl refused to give up. Instead, she went on a journey of intense self-discovery, hiking more than 1,000 miles on the Pacific Coast Trail. Now Cheryl will share her story and offer advice in this evening of laughter, heartbreak and hope. Join us for this free event either on the Concordia University, St. Paul campus or for a live broadcast online. Registration on a first come, first served basis. Limited seating.

Cheryl’s books will be available for purchase, and she will be available to sign after the presentation.
