About the Author

Purvi Shah was born in Ahmadabad, Gujarat, India, and holds the B.A. from University of Michigan and M.A. from Rutgers University. Her poetry has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, and she is a frequent speaker at national conferences on women's rights. She is Executive Director of Sakhi for South Asian Women and instructor at Hunter College.
