Heidi Helmeke discusses her book "Self-Wealth: A Simple, Conscious Path to a Comfortable Financial Future"

“Through the story of an extended family’s journey, Helmeke explores issues of meaning, security, and purpose in life. Self-Wealth effectively serves to remind us of this timeless search in which we must all engage.”--Amy Florian, author of No Longer Awkward: Communicating with Clients through the Toughest Times of Life

Meet Alex and Jess, a couple seemingly doing well in 2004. With a giant house, a new car, and two kids all sponsored by a hefty six-figure salary, the future looks bright for the young couple. But when the Great Recession arrives, their picture-perfect life comes crashing down. Even more, Alex and Jess realize they have never truly been happy. With the help of Kate, their financial planner, Alex and Jess work to rediscover the values truly important to them while shaping a new outlook for their family and long-term future that include a complete and thriving life built around purposeful work, security, and hope for their future. Helmeke's introduction to a “self-wealth mindset” affirms that the life you want is within your reach through mindfulness, discovering your larger purpose, and establishing authentic values around your spending. Self-Wealth is a book of awakening--a companion guide for discovering the key to financial fulfillment regardless of where you are in life.
