FitzFirst@Four, with Dave Page

FitzFirst@Four is a monthly discussion group, focused on the short stories of F Scott Fitzgerald. It meets at 4:00pm on the first Sunday of every month at Common Good Books. Events are free and open to the public.

Dave Page, co-editor of The St. Paul Stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald, and editor of The Thoughtbook of F. Scott Fitzgerald: A Secret Boyhood Diary, will lead the August edition of FitzFirst@Four. Page will provide context and history on Fitzgerald’s story, “He Thinks He’s Wonderful,” featuring one of Fitzgerald’s most endearing and enduring young heroes--teenager, Basil Duke Lee. Additionally, Page will share new insights on Violet Stockton, the young southern girl who spent a summer in Saint Paul and was one of Scott’s first “loves.” Stockton served as a model for many of the female protagonists in Fitzgerald’s stories.

“He Thinks He’s Wonderful” can be found in The Saint Paul Stories of F Scott Fitzgerald, available now at Common Good Books.
