Common Good Books’ Book Club discusses Carol by Patricia Highsmith

Join us for a discussion of love and literature.

Common Good Books will be playing host to its Common Good Book Club on Sunday the 28th. We will be discussing Carol by Patricia Highsmith.

Carol, previously entitled The Price of Salt, is a critically acclaimed novel which has been made into a likewise critically acclaimed film. It follows Theresa Belivet, a stage designer trapped in a department-store day job in 1952. Theresa's routine and life is forever altered when Carol Aird walks into her place of business. The two eventually fall into an obsessive brand of love and face the myriad tribulations their infatuation all but guarantees.
