Wild About Architecture, by architectural pro Bette Hammel, is a fascinating retrospective of her work in local and national magazines. She relates personal tales of her adventures interviewing Minnesota architects and several starchitects, such as Frank Gehry, Cesar Pelli, and Bill Pedersen.

In 1970, Bette met and married the love of her life, architect Dick Hammel, and soon switched her focus from advertising copywriting to architectural journalism. Now in her 90s, Hammel is the author of four books, including Legendary Homes of Lake Minnetonka. In this book she recounts travels to European landmarks, plus a rollicking story of six Minnesota blondes sailing the Adriatic to Dubrovnik.
